Terms of service

Last updated 14 October 2026.

The short version

Suros is a research terminal. It shows you market data, often delayed, and lets you model with it. It holds no client money, places no orders and gives no advice. If you use it to make an investment decision, that decision is yours. The sections below set out the detail.

Who you are contracting with

These terms are an agreement between you and Suros Systems, a service developed and operated from Norway. "We" and "us" mean Suros Systems. "You" means the person using the service, and where you use it for a firm, the firm you use it for, in which case you confirm you may accept these terms on its behalf. Using the site or the terminal means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

Your account

  • You need an account to use the terminal, and you must be 18 or over to open one.
  • Give a real email address. It is how we verify you, sign you in and reach you about the service.
  • Keep your credentials to yourself. An account is for one person. Sharing a login, or using one account to serve several people, is a breach of these terms.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us it is compromised. Turn on two-factor authentication if the account matters to you.
  • You can delete the account yourself from the account page, or by writing to us. Deletion is described in the privacy policy.

The beta

The early access beta is a paid subscription. Places are limited and offered from the waitlist in cohorts. A beta seat carries no service level, no guarantee that a feature stays, and no guarantee of how long the beta lasts. We may change what a beta seat includes, close the beta, or move a feature behind a paid plan. Where a change removes something you were relying on, we will say so on the roadmap or by email before it takes effect.

Subscriptions and billing

What each plan includes is described on the home page. The price, the currency and any offer that applies to you are shown before you pay, and that is the amount you are charged.

  • Checkout runs through Stripe, which processes the payment for us. We are the seller and the receipt comes from Suros. Stripe's terms apply to the payment itself.
  • We never see or store your card details. The payment provider holds them.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically for the period you bought until you cancel. Cancel from the account page, which opens Stripe's billing portal, in as few steps as it took to subscribe. An annual plan is reminded by email before it renews.
  • Cancelling stops the next renewal. Access runs to the end of the period you have paid for. Moving to a cheaper plan also takes effect from the next renewal.
  • Moving to a dearer plan starts at once, and you pay only the difference between the two prices for the time left in the period, not the full new price. The next renewal is at the new price.
  • If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK you have a statutory right to withdraw within fourteen days. At checkout you ask us to begin the service immediately. If you then withdraw within the fourteen days you pay only for the days used, and the rest is refunded. How it works is set out under Your right to withdraw below.
  • Payments are final. Apart from that withdrawal right, and the difference counted when you move to a dearer plan, we do not refund or credit a payment: not for time left in a period, a period in which you did not use Suros, a renewal you meant to cancel, unused AI allowance or API calls, or a move to a cheaper plan. A purchase made for a business has no withdrawal right and is final from the start. None of this limits what mandatory consumer law gives you, for example where the service does not work as described.
  • A business workspace runs on one plan and is billed per seat, one for each person in it, up to the number of seats we approved. Seats you add start at once and you pay for the time left in the period; fewer seats are billed from the next renewal, with no credit for the current period. Larger teams can instead be billed by a written agreement, which sets the seats, the period and how we invoice. When the agreement ends without being renewed, the workspace loses its plan as a lapsed subscription does.
  • We may change prices. A change applies from your next renewal and we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it does.
  • Where a payment fails, or is disputed with your card issuer, we may suspend the account until it is settled. If something about a charge looks wrong, write to us first.

Your right to withdraw

If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, you can withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of the day you took it out, without giving a reason.

  • How. Press Withdraw from contract here on the account page, or tell us by email at hello@surossystems.com. A plain statement that you withdraw is enough. You may use the form below, but you do not have to. What counts is that you send it before the 14 days are up.
  • What you pay. You asked us at checkout to start the service at once, so you pay for the days you had access, in proportion to the price of the period. Nothing more.
  • Your refund. We refund the rest within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, to the card you paid with, at no cost to you. We confirm the withdrawal by email.

The rules come from the Cancellation Act, angrerettloven, and Annex I of Directive 2011/83/EU, and for consumers in the UK the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Acceptable use

You may use Suros for your own research, for the firm you use it on behalf of, and to build your own models with. You may not:

  • Redistribute, resell, republish or sublicense market data taken from the service, or use it to build a competing data product.
  • Scrape the terminal, drive its endpoints from a script, or use an automated client other than the REST API with your own key and the clients we publish for it: the Python client, the MCP server and the Excel add-in.
  • Get around rate limits, plan entitlements, seat limits or authentication.
  • Share an account, a session cookie or an API key with anyone else.
  • Upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to upload.
  • Probe, load-test or attack the service, other than through the disclosure process described on the security page.
  • Present output of the service as investment advice or a personal recommendation to anyone else.

We may suspend an account that is doing any of this, and we will tell you why.

Market data

This section is the one most likely to matter to you.

  • Market data shown in Suros comes from third parties. The sources whose licence asks to be named are listed on the data sources page, and the rest are disclosed where a contract or a regulator requires it.
  • The data may be delayed. No quote in the terminal is guaranteed to be real time, and nothing in it is suitable for trading on. Where a figure cannot be fetched the terminal shows it as unavailable rather than filling the gap.
  • The data is provided for your own display and analysis only. You may not redistribute it, forward it, or make it available to anyone who is not a user of your own account.
  • Data is provided as it arrives from the source. We do not warrant that it is accurate, complete, current or fit for any purpose, and neither do the sources.
  • You are responsible for your own use of the data, including whether the terms of the underlying source permit that use in your jurisdiction and for your purpose.
  • Professional users. If you use Suros in the course of a business, for an employer, or on behalf of a firm, you are a professional user. By doing so you certify that you have any exchange, vendor or regulatory permission that professional use of that data requires where you are, and you are responsible for any fee that follows from it. Write to us if you need this confirmed in a separate agreement.
  • We may change, delay or drop a feed when the source changes its terms, its access, or its pricing. The terminal will say what is unavailable rather than substituting a different number.

No advice, no broker, no execution

Suros is an analytics and educational tool. Nothing on this site or in the application constitutes investment advice, a personal recommendation, or an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any financial instrument. Valuation models are educational frameworks driven by user-controlled assumptions. Paper trading is simulated; Suros is not a broker and executes no real orders. Backtested and historical performance does not predict future results. Investing involves risk, including loss of principal. The terminal runs on market data that may be delayed; do not base investment decisions on it. Suros is not affiliated with any broker or platform referenced.

We are not authorised or regulated as an investment firm in any jurisdiction, and we do not provide any regulated service. If you want advice, take it from someone licensed to give it.

Vantage, the strategy builder and the filings question box are AI models. They can be wrong. They describe and measure; they do not give investment advice or personal recommendations, and an order they propose is a paper order that waits for your click. Prop challenges are simulations: Suros is not affiliated with any trading firm named in them, pays nothing and offers no funding.

Strategies, exports and code

You can build strategies, import strategies other members share in Community, and export a strategy as code for another trading platform. Before you use an export or any code you download, you check that it does what you intend, and you are responsible for running it and for whatever follows from running it. An export lists what the target platform cannot compute and how that changes the strategy; it is not tested on that platform by us. Suros sends no trade signals, connects to no broker for orders and places no order on any platform.

Anything you put in

Your watchlists, portfolios, ledgers, models, strategies, screens, notes and uploads stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your data, sync it to the account you signed into, and show it back to you. We do not use your content to train models and we do not sell it. What we store, where, and for how long is set out in the privacy policy.

Community

What you publish in Community stays yours. By publishing it you let us show it to other members, and let them import a copy into their own terminal, until you delete it. Deleting your account deletes your posts.

A post is your own analysis. You may not publish:

  • a recommendation aimed at a particular person, or anything presented as investment advice;
  • a view on a security while you hold a position in it, or have another interest in it, without saying so in the post;
  • false or misleading information, or anything meant to move a price, such as a pump and dump;
  • figures you know to be wrong, including invented backtest returns;
  • someone else's personal data, or anything unlawful or that you have no right to publish.

Figures on a post are the author's and are not checked by Suros. Simulated or past results do not predict future results.

Anyone, member or not, can report a post to abuse@surossystems.com, saying which post and why. We may hide or remove a post, or suspend an account, that breaks these rules. When we do, we tell the author which rule and why, and the author can ask us to look again by replying to that email. Where a post may be a crime, such as market manipulation, we may report it to the authorities.

Our intellectual property

The terminal, its interface, its code, its wording and the Suros name and mark stay ours. These terms give you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the service while your account is in good standing, and nothing more. Output you generate from your own assumptions, such as a valuation report or an export, is yours to use.

Availability

We aim to keep the terminal up, and we publish what we measure on the status page. On beta and retail plans the service is provided as it is, with no uptime commitment and no credit for downtime. Organisation plans can carry a service level; the target, the credits and the maintenance windows are set out on the security page.

Upstream feeds go down, change shape and rate-limit us. When that happens the affected part of the terminal reports itself unavailable. That is expected behaviour rather than a defect.

Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Norwegian law. Nor does it cut into the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

Subject to that: we are not liable for investment losses, lost profit, lost opportunity, lost data or indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, or from data being wrong, delayed or missing. Our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred euro. Where you use the service free of charge, that cap is one hundred euro.

Ending it

You can stop using Suros and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used to attack or overload the service, or where we are required to. Unless the breach makes it impossible, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. If we close a paid account without cause, we refund the unused part of the period you paid for. The sections on market data, intellectual property, liability and governing law survive the end of the agreement.

Changes to these terms

We will change these terms as the service changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version. Where a change materially reduces what you get, or increases what you owe, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you may cancel before it does.

Complaints

Write to hello@surossystems.com first. If we cannot resolve a complaint, consumers in Norway can ask Forbrukerrådet to mediate and take the case on to Forbrukerklageutvalget. Consumers elsewhere in the EEA can contact the European Consumer Centre in their country.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes go to the Norwegian courts, with Oslo District Court as the agreed first venue. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings where you live.

Data protection

How we handle personal data, the lawful basis for each thing we hold and the rights you have over it are set out in the privacy policy. Organisations that need a data processing addendum will find the Article 28 clauses on the security page. Both form part of this agreement.

Contact

Write to hello@surossystems.com about these terms or your account, to data@surossystems.com about your data, and to abuse@surossystems.com to report a Community post. Every address is on the contact page.
